“Early Glow” is the first strawberry to create each season. “Early Glow” are June-bearers, producing all of their berries throughout a three-week span. The berries are smaller in size compared to other popular varieties, but sweeter. Expect to choose approximately 1 quart of berries per plant. “Early Glow” strawberries are acceptable for growing in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 4 through 8.
Prepare the planting area by broadcasting 4 pounds of 10-10-10 fertilizer for every 100 square feet of garden area approximately two to three weeks before planting.
Plant strawberries 15 to 24 inches apart in rows that are 3 to 4 feet apart after all danger of frost has passed.
Put each plant into a little hole, making sure the crown of this plant is over ground. Fill in soil around the plant and then tamp the soil at the base of this plant.
Water plants immediately after planting and weekly thereafter. Give them approximately 1 to 1 1/2 inches of water each week.
