In this U.S. election year, the president who grabbed the most attention was not actually running for office. Historically, he was a excellent debater, he issued the Emancipation Proclamation and he also gave one of the most effective speeches of all time. Since then he has become one of our most revered presidents, using a huge memorial in Washington, D.C., to establish it. We see him every day on $5 bills and the penny. In Hollywood this year, he also hunted vampires and is now being portrayed by Daniel Day-Lewis. There was even controversy regarding a possible Lincoln misquote throughout a Democratic convention. Lincoln hasn’t been hotter.

Lincoln Logs Classic Edition Frontier Cabin – $31.49
Lincoln’s childhood years in a log cabin motivated architect John Lloyd Wright to mention his iconic instructional toy after the former president. Is it just me, or does looking in this cause you to want to build one right now? I’m also taken with this packaging; I wish to leave it out onto a shelf somewhere in my home.

Abraham Lincoln: The Sangamon Edition, by Carl Sandburg
Everybody has this set in their shelves, but I do not know anybody who read the whole thing. — my dad
This recognizable six-volume set of Lincoln’s life by Carl Sandburg is a traditional conventional library staple. I can’t think of a while to read these novels. If you are hard pressed for time, then see Spielberg’s flick and simply pretend you read them.

Abraham Lincoln Throw Pillow – $61.35
It’s pretty astonishing to look online for “Abraham Lincoln throw pillow” — there is such a range of options, including one which says, “Lincoln is my homeboy” on it. As for me, I prefer this traditional Lincoln portrait, though I don’t know whether I would feel comfortable with a respected former president for lumbar support.
